Those results equate to a +5.5% monthly return vs. +0.7% for the S&P 500, a difference of +4.8% in alpha terms, despite the CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) being at a low during this period (pair trading returns tend to INCREASE during time of higher volatility, and reduce during lower volatility, see here).
That monthly run rate extrapolates to about a 90% Annual Return, or over $54,000 on a $60,000 account. That is an excellent result! We are meeting almost 90% of our backtest results. Impressive. And remember, these are UNFILTERED trading signals, with no trade management techniques applied.
Our overall Win Rate remains amazing at 86% ( versus 93% in backtest) Reward/Risk is coming back in to match reality now that we’ve has a sizeable realised loss, and now stands at 1.4x (vs. 2.3x in backtest)
Average profit per trade was $474 vs. $483 in backtest, so tracking very well.
These amazing results for the first two months are gratifying to experience.
